During World War II, the Army’s Information & Historical personnel conducted many interviews of hospitalized troops, regarding their experiences in combat. The interviews of the 7th Armored Division were all conducted in Fall 1944, covering actions in northern France, during August and September 1944, from Utah and Omaha Beach to Courville, Senonches, Chartres, Rambouillet, Dreux, Melun, Fontainbleau, Château Thierry, Chalons-sur-Marne, Epernay, Reims, Verdun and the area of Metz: Saint Privat, Gravelotte, Dornot, Marieulles and Sillegny, with crossings of the Eure, the Seine, the Marne, the Meuse, the Aisne, and the Moselle Rivers.
