Special Item
One of the platoon leaders of B/38 who was captured at St. Vith in December 1944 was 2nd Lt. Monell Van Fradenburg. I have recently learned that he was later killed in action on September 25, 1951 in Korea, as a 1st Lt. with Company "H" of the 23rd Infantry Regiment of the 2nd Infantry Division. Click here to go to a web page where one of his men tells of an incident in their combat in Korea.
