The reactivated 7AD never went to Korea. It was a training division, based at Camp Roberts, California. Men would be in the Division only for the duration of their training: 8 weeks for basic and 8 weeks for specialty. I do not yet have the date of reactivation.

Camp Roberts construction began November 15, 1940 as a training base and today is a California National Guard base. The Camp Roberts Historical Museum has a very good website. The Museum is well worth a visit and is just off California Highway 101, north of Paso Robles. Camp Roberts Newspapers of the Korean War Era: Thanks to Dirk Hale of the Camp Roberts Historical Museum for PDF files of the weekly newspaper "The Camp Roberts Parade" (and one issue of "Army Times") for 1950-1953. The collection is not complete, and some issues are significantly damaged. But this is an excellent record of life on the base in the Korean War era. |
I am only including the units as I have material with which to create web pages for them.
