French nationals joined the 7th Armored Division and became members of the Mission Militaire de Liaison Tactique Francaise under the organization of Captain (later Major) Marcel Miltat who served in 7th Armored Division Headquarters' G-2 (Intelligence) Section. The volunteers were assigned to specific elements of 7th Armored Division.
Over 100 French volunteers served with 7th Armored Division. Regretably, only a small number of those have been identified thus far and are included on the web page of "Foreign Nationals Who Fought for the 7th Armored Division".
In a 9 July 1945 memorandum to the commandant of the Mission Militaire Francaise, 7AD Commanding General Robert Hasbrouck wrote that from August 1945 to May 1945 at times up to 96 members of the MMF served with the 7th Armored Division, attached to different headquarters and units of the Division. Of those men, 13 were wounded in action, 7 were killed in action and 3 remained missing in action. Under command of Marcel Militat, the mission served with distinction and their conduct conformed with the highest traditions of the French Army. (This memorandum provided to me by French WWII Historian Pascal Bulois and was provided to him by the daughter of Raymond Torcheux, an MMF member who served with 33rd Armored Engineer Battalion.)

After the war, the French veterans of 7th Armored Division formed an association for reunions. There were at least 107 members of the association as the image below shows. We need to find who all those many French citizens were who served with 7th Armored Division.
