In June 1945, after VE-Day, each 7th Armored Division member received a printed "Box Score" map that showed the progress and accomplishments of the Division. The map include a band of empty space on the right title "Personal Notes" in which the men had their buddies, usually in the same squad or platoon, write their names and home addresses. Since the Morning Reports only group men at the company level, these groups of names at the squad or platoon level often provide the only source of that level of ogranization.

Ralph Carnao gathered more signatures than most men had on their Box Score maps so that it appears these men were all in the same platoon of Company B, 33rd Armored Engineer Battalion. He had the map mounted, matted and framed. Unfortunately, the glued-on matte covers some of the written entries. Much worse, the glue and possibly the foam core backing behind the map degraded the writing on the front so that some entries are partially or mostly illegible.

The detail images have been greatly modified with image processing software to make the entries legible. Many of them are almost invisible now to the naked eye due to the chemicals from the backing foam and glue. There is no cellophane tape on the map. The reflection is due to the warping of the paper by the way it was glued. And the darker bands are not on the front but are the areas where the backing supports were glued to the rear and the glue chemicals have slightly discolored the paper. The bands are not visible to the naked eye but are prominent in the software-modified images. The glass was broken during shipment, despite excellent packaging.
